Desperately thinking of things to say
We have finally found a place to live. We're moving into our new flat in Shad Thames on the 19th August. The area is really nice, although a wee bit 'viaduct', but the streets are all cobbled and the buildings are all converted warehouses named after spices (I think they were once used to store spices). Ours is called Vanilla & Sesame. Much nicer than Cardamom (where we also looked at a flat) or Clove. I think Wheat wharf wouldn't agree with me as apparently I am sensitive to wheat! I did a food sensitivity test at a health food store the other day - it was a homeopathic-type test and while I'm a little skeptical it showed up things like wheat, dairy, sugar, etc. all things I have been told to lay off for a while for the elimination-challenge diet that I've been doing. Interestingly my guts have been really good while on the elimination diet except for the one day I broke and had a latte (neither coffee nor milk are allowed). lets not go any further into it.
Anyways.......... the flat is a 1 bedroom apartment on the third floor. Unfortunately it isn't one of the ones that have exposed brickwork but it's got wooden flooring in the living room and a good sized bedroom. there is also a little balcony that you can (just) fit a table and two chairs on. I'm hoping we can get fresh bread or something on weekend mornings and eat on the balcony (while it's still warm enough to open the door). It's nice and light too. We're going to have to invest in a sofa bed so that there's something for people to sleep in when they come to stay.
That's about all that's happening at the moment. After we're settled in I will look for a job to get out of the house a bit and earn some pounds.
